Join us for a special screening of "The Listeners," a film about suicide hotline prevention volunteers and the lifesaving work they do. ISPH volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer audience questions about how to get involved in the important work of saving lives in Idaho.
"What if the most important conversation of your life is with a stranger? "The Listeners" follows a cadre of new volunteer trainees in crisis and suicide prevention as they learn to answer suicide hotlines. Through their eyes - and more importantly, their ears - the film examines mental health and suicide prevention strategies, volunteerism and the lifesaving power of empathy."
