Winter Wildlands Alliance, a Boise-based nonprofit working at the national level to inspire and educate the backcountry community to protect and care for their winter landscapes, invites its home community to gather and celebrate winter revelry Thursday, November 17 and Friday, November 18. Two major events will be held in downtown Boise:
Thursday, November 17 at 6:30PM (Basque Center): Backcountry Film Festival Premiere Screening - Enjoy a night of films that capture the spirit of winter. Adventure, environment and climate, youth outdoors, outdoor culture: you’ll find it all in this award-winning line-up. Come and meet the crew that brings the entire Film Festival to life. Doors open at 6:30PM, films start at 7:30PM.
There will be the best raffle in town, visions of powder, friends, and beer from Odell Brewing Co.
Friday, November 18 at 6:00PM (Linen Building): The SnowBall - High energy bluegrass band from Colorado, Rapidgrass is prepping for their Idaho debut at the SnowBall! SnowBall is a benefit concert for Bogus Basin and SnowSchool, a program that gets 32,000 kids outside this winter. Did we mention that costumes are involved? This is a “big kid” party with a semiformal flare - think ski bum meets prom date. Title sponsor and local Boise company, Realtime Adventure Data, is taking care of you to make sure this is the season party you do not want to miss. Odell brews, bluegrass dancing, epic raffle! All proceeds go to getting kids outside this winter. Doors open at 6PM, band starts at 7PM
